The pubic bone and the Hara

Wow, this has been quite a journey! Finally, at the end of this deeply transformative year of 2024, I’m ready to offer this workshop on bonewashing of the pubic bone.

It feels like this has been in the pipeline for two years, and now all the obstacles have finally cleared. So, here’s a brief explanation through this blog.

During PSOAS massages, I often include a moment to check for (trauma or tension) loads on the pubic bone. I do this because, in PSOAS massages, we primarily focus on releasing everything—both from the various tissues and energetically—in the area where the PSOAS muscle runs along, beneath, or through. This allows the recipient of the treatment to become aware of and feel exactly where tensions reside in their body and/or energetic system and explore whether these can be released immediately. This fosters greater body awareness, which is healing in itself and essential for developing and refining your senses, understanding your body better, and feeling more comfortable in your skin.

The tension is stored on the bone via the periosteum and can be released through ‘bonewashing’ techniques. During my PSOAS massage training sessions, there isn’t much room to fully apply bonewashing of the pubic bone —beyond a brief check, it isn’t covered (though sometimes releases do occur spontaneously). So, I’ve only applied this work in my own sessions. Over the past two years, I’ve frequently been asked when I would offer a workshop on bonewashing.

In 2023, it became clear that the first focus should be on the heart, and I developed a training on body dearmouring and bonewashing of the heart chakra area. This course covers techniques and areas not addressed in the PSOAS deep dive. This process also deepened my connection with my heart. My own inner processes and life experiences are my main sources of inspiration when creating a course. I then delve deeper and gain knowledge until the right form emerges. I’ve noticed that when I finally teach the course, my inner processes deepen even further—the act of creation not only works outwardly when I share it but also continues to work inwardly… and that can be intense.

Meanwhile, I was still unsure how to approach the bonewashing of the pubic bone. The heart chakra course wasn’t the right place for it, and it wasn’t clear what it should be combined with. For me, it’s essential that it’s embedded in the right context, with an appropriate energetic framework. Despite my tantra teacher training, I wasn’t willing (yet) to include physically internal yoni work. Initially, I wasn’t even sure if it would be exclusively for women or also for men. At some point, I felt it should include womb work and considered collaborating with someone. Then I unexpectedly encountered another layer of my own process—a lesson in letting go and trusting: letting go of control, of what I thought it should be, of what I believed I needed to seek elsewhere, and opening up to what truly aligns.

In the last 2.5 weeks of 2024, everything accelerated. I received new inspiration and gained clarity about how important inner vertical alignment is and how this could fit with work around the pubic bone. For me, this requires a deeper level—a layer of creative power that goes beyond the bone and even the womb.

During a session, I intuitively followed my hands and spontaneously applied part of what felt energetically connected to this. Between sessions, I was even shown in detail how this work links to certain layers. I was taken back 10 years, to a two-year program of emotional and energetic therapies I followed to heal from old wounds, prevent a looming burnout, and restore the flow of my energy. One of the techniques in that program was working with the hara line, the golden laser-like line around which your physical and energetic layers are built. That entire program ultimately strengthened my self-worth, self-love, and capacity to make new life choices.

This work feels like it’s directly connected to the source—a straight, powerful line that combines strength and inner fire with softness and compassion. Although men also have a pubic bone, and I usually work with mixed groups, I feel called to first share this work with women because of the societal patterns women carry in the second chakra area, its connection to feminine power, sensuality, the womb, and creative energy.

This one-day workshop is aimed at women with some experience in massage and/or energetic work. You can attend simply for yourself, to uncover that inner gold, or to use the techniques and knowledge in your bodywork practice. For clarity: this workshop does not involve physically internal work. Ideally, you’ll wear simple cotton underwear over which the work will be done. It’s absolutely no problem if you’re menstruating, have had your womb removed, or have endometriosis. If you have cancer, please consult your oncologist first.

I trust that everything unfolds at the right time, and I’m excited to share this special work! I’m also very curious to see what this will bring forth for myself and others.

Warm regards,
